Online Courses
One of the most effective way to train and resource mission-shaped leaders is in locally based learning communities that engage the local and do not require people to leave their context of ministry or their jobs for extended periods of time. A number of Allelon Training Centers (ATCs) are being launched in early 08 to begin the process of developing locally based centers for mission-shaped leadership development. In partnership with TiM (Together in Mission, UK) we are introducing a high quality curriculum designed by leaders in North America and England for training in mission-shaped leadership. Courses used in local ATCs will also be available on-line. They are intended for those who seek to be empowered in mission-shaped leadership in their own communities. Spring 2008 CoursesMissional Church: Its Nature and PurposeWhat is a mission-shaped theology of the church? This course aims to provide understanding around the basic issues and themes of a missional ecclesiology. It also seeks to locate a missional ecclesiology with the ecclesial paradigms of the Western tradition and identify how a missional theology engages one?s own particular context. Reading a CommunityThis course will provide the student with the skills and frameworks to read and enter a local community in order to develop a contextual praxis of missional life. It will give the student the tools to relate the real, on-the-ground life of a local community to the ministry and mission challenges of a local church. Mission-Shaped Small GroupsSmall groups are a significant part of local faith communities. This course provides the concepts, tools and resources to develop small groups in local churches that shape their lives and practices around missional life in the communities where they live and work. |
